PyeongChang 2018: NBC Olympics Selects VITAC Closed Captioning Services For Its Production Of Winter Olympics
NBC Olympics, a division of NBC Sports Group, has selected VITAC Corporation to provide closed-captioning services for its production of the Winter Olympics, which take place in PyeongChang, South Korea, from Feb. 8- 25. The announcement was made today by Darryl Jefferson, Vice President Post Production and Digital Workflow, NBC Sports and Olympics, and P. Kevin Kilroy, VITAC’s Chief Executive Officer.
VITAC’s live closed captioning coverage includes captioning for all Winter Olympic programming across NBCUniversal networks, including NBC, NBCSN, CNBC and USA. PyeongChang 2018 marks the 12th Olympics captioned by VITAC.
“NBC is pleased to once again partner with VITAC to provide this important element of our coverage to deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers, as well as all others who rely on closed captioning when watching television,” said Jefferson.
The closed captioning services provided by VITAC will help make coverage of the PyeongChang Games accessible to even more people, and allow them to share in the thrill and excitement of the Olympics.”
