NAB 2019: Aperi Unveils Expansion of Cybersecurity, IP Monoring, 1RU Solutions
After quadrupling deployments with major US-based service providers over the past six months, Aperi (Booth SU13302) will demonstrate expanded cybersecurity and IP monitoring and a new streamlined, one-third 1RU solution at NAB 2019.
The company will also showcase live sports production — including smart REMI and 4K — intelligent media edge services for global contribution, and a broad range of agile, instantly re-composable media and native IP gateway and processing functions. All media functions, from re-configurable codecs and multiviewing to IP firewalling and NATing, are available as easily downloadable apps accessible through the Aperi App Store.
An active period of growth with service providers in the US follows installations at connected stadiums in Australia and France. Virtualized media services network projects, primarily for sports production and delivery, are also underway in the UK, Italy, and Japan.
“We’re working as partners to service providers around the globe, not only to introduce secure virtualized solutions into their networks but also to meet longer-term growth and financial objectives,” says Aperi CEO Joop Janssen. “Floating, metered licenses allow service providers to scale and reallocate resources on demand, almost instantly at a fraction of the cost of traditional solutions. It’s just good business.”
At NAB 2019, Aperi is also introducing a streamlined solution designed for smaller, efficient media edge services to the North American market. A one-slot microserver with integrated 10G switch, the A1101 accommodates any Aperi app, whether a codec, IP switch, IP gateway, or security, monitoring or network adaption function, all as part of the integrated V-Stack hypervisor layer and just like the market-proven, five-slot A1105 1RU server.
With Aperi, service providers, rights holders, and broadcasters can quickly adapt to changing market conditions and live media requirements by spinning services up and down on demand. In addition to agile and extremely cost-effective live workflows, Aperi provides comprehensive workflow integration with orchestrators and monitoring systems, including Skyline Dataminer, Dimetis, and Vidi.
Aperi will also demonstrate its intelligent media edge and unique V-stack media hypervisor at the Telstra booth at NAB. Telstra is Australia’s largest telecommunications provider and an early adopter of Aperi solutions.
